Going to Moorea on the Aremiti ferry

Thinking about flying to Tahiti's sister island? Think again, there's so much you would miss if you fly from Tahiti - Faaa airport to Moorea - Maharepa. Yes its about a 15 mins flight but you could miss out on seeing whales outside Papeete's harbor and its cheaper to buy a ferry ticket. The trip only takes 35 ~ 45 mins depending on the ferry company you take. You also don't feel the dramatic landscape from above, both islands have amazing mountains and you really feel minuscule when you are close to them. And its a chance to see how locals ferry daily to go to work in the city, or how they go on holiday to Moorea from Tahiti most weekends.

Aremiti is our go to with the 5 and 6 coming and going every couple of hours or so, drop your bags in the compartment downstairs at check-in at the ferry terminal. If its a sunny day, head to the upper deck upstairs and take in the views on both departures and arrivals while freight and cars are being loaded or unloaded.
