French Polynesia here we come

wellington city's skyline daytime

After a lovely Wellington morning but quite fresh, 12ºC we are on our way to French Polynesia. Or almost, as usual within Aotearoa | New Zealand, first stop is Auckland International airport. Only an hour flight on a A320 from Wellington airport. Switching from the domestic to international should be smoother by 2029 when the new hub building will be completed.

Our flight had a couple of hours delay out of Auckland but we've managed to leave by 8.30pm on Air New Zealand (B777-300W). Always lovely flight attendant on Air New Zealand, Shay, Yukiko and her team were friendly and very good on our flight to Papeete.

From the Faa'a international airport taxi stand to the Hilton hotel at 4:30am, our ride was 2,300 XPF or around 39 NZD, small price for the convenience in the Pacific islands.

The next day was good to stretch our legs around, so we went to the Carrefour mall linked to the Hilton via a pedestrian bridge. It has all you need for supermarkets, souvenirs, wines, food and a pharmacy on the opposite side of the supermarket with a food court.

Very handy and easy 5 mins from the hotel and try to get the Rotui pineapple juice, it's local and tastes yummy.
